‘SWAR UDGAM’, an Inter School Hindustani Classical Vocal & Geet / Gazal Competition was organized by Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh in the School premises on 06-08-2016. The Classical Vocal Competition was conducted for the students of classes VI to VIII and the Geet / Gazal Competition was conducted for the students of classes IX & X.
Students from 26 Schools of the Tricity and adjoining areas participated in this competition. Mrs. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University  and Vice-Chairperson, Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes, was the Chief Guest of this Function. Mr. H. M. Singh, Mr. Vinod Pawar & Mr. Amit Gangani, renowned Music Directors, were the Judges for this Competition. Prizes to the winning Schools were given by the Chief Guest.

The host School did not take part in the Competition as a matter of policy that in any Inter School Competition hosted by Mount Carmel, the students from the School would not compete.
