It is well established today that the internalization of road rules and road discipline by the road users is crucial for ensuring safer and better managed traffic movement. The process of road safety education should ideally start at an early age. An early start shall ensure that the road safety habit is inculcated by the citizens at an age when their minds are the most impressionable and also most receptive to the learning process.
Chandigarh city traffic police conducted workshops for classes 7, 8 and 9 to spread awareness about road safety. Students were shown a collection of films on safe driving practices and pedestrian safety. Movies on road safety are screened for the school children to imbibe safety practices in an entertaining fashion (Care is taken that the movies are age appropriate so that the children can identify with the theme and the symbolization).
