Sukhna is choking, Sukhna is shrinking, Sukhna is losing its sheen. Few of the migratory birds have also stopped visiting their favourite destinations. Human callousness and greed is taking a toll on the flora and fauna of this region. It’s high time we realize the urgency of saving this morning walker’s paradise.
It’s believed that children’s plea never go unheard. So on the occasion of Children’s day the members of the Heritage club ‘Darohar’ visited the Sukhna lake to make an earnest appeal for preserving the heritage of ours. The students interacted with visitors and appealed them to be more respectful towards nature.
They made a human chain and took out a silent rally to voice out their concerns. It was a fortunate moment when the students had a chance meeting with prof. I.S Dua professor and chairman of department of Botany ,P.U . He applauded the club’s effort and also spared his precious time to address the students on the pressing need for taking stringent steps in saving Sukhna. He told the students to be empathetic towards the environment and to be a lover of nature as nature gives back manifold than what it receives from us.
