A workshop for teachers on POCSO was organized by the NIPCCD in its regional Centre in Mohali on the 11th & 12th of December .Ten Teachers of Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh attended the workshop. The objective was to make the teachers realize her role in the implementation of the act which concerns child rights & protection .Information about organizations that are child centric like IDC, IPC, CWC & their role was imparted and they were also made aware of the JJ act and the POCSO Act. Dr. KC George the Regional Director spoke on Child rights and at length on four main rights ms Manjit Kaur Sandhu POCSO Panel lawyer discussed it salient features & shared information on JJ act, SJPU etc . Teachers realized the need to be vigilant and the importance of reporting such offences. Also the need to have internal complaints committee & a complaint box was suggested.
