As per the guidelines issued by the Department of School Education and under the aegis of the Founders and Directors Dr. Annie Charles Samuel and Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel, Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, took significant strides towards empowering and honoring the girl child. The event unfolded with an inspiring oath-taking ceremony, where students, teachers, and staff pledged to uphold the dignity and rights of every girl. The school campus buzzed with creativity as students passionately participated in various activities. A vibrant poster-making competition captured the essence of the day, reflecting the students’ artistic talents and their commitment to championing the cause of the girl child. Poetry became a medium of expression, as young Carmelites penned verses that celebrated the strength, resilience, and potential of every girl. A resounding slogan on ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ reverberated through the air, underscoring the school’s dedication to promoting education and gender equality. In a symbolic gesture, a tree plantation drive was organized on the school premises. This green initiative aimed to nurture not only the environment but also the dreams and aspirations of every girl child. The planting of saplings symbolized the growth and blossoming potential inherent in each girl. The Principal, Dr. Parveena John Singh stated that Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, through its enthusiastic celebration of National Girl Child Day, demonstrated a firm commitment to foster an inclusive and empowering environment for all students.
