MOUNT CARMEL SCHOOL, CHANDIGARH CELEBRATED REPUBLIC DAY IN A SYMPHONY OF PATRIOTISM AND PRIDE

Under the aegis of the Founders and Directors Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel and Dr. Annie Charles Samuel alongwith the Principal Dr. Parveena John Singh, Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh was immersed in hues of patriotism and national pride as it celebrated the 77th Republic Day on 26th January 2026 with great splendour and solemnity. The school premises resonated with the spirit of unity, freedom and democracy as the celebrations commenced in the school.

The programme began on a reverential note with a Bible reading and morning prayer, invoking divine blessings for the nation. A gracious welcome address set the tone for the occasion, following which the National Flag was unfurled by the by the Principal. The soulful rendition of the National Anthem filled the air with devotion and reverence for the motherland.

A magnificent march past by the School Houses, NSS and Cabinet members, reflected discipline, coordination and youthful zeal. The cultural segment unfolded as a vibrant tapestry of India’s rich heritage, featuring classical dance performances, patriotic choir, stirring poetry recitations, skits, a powerful Hindi natak and lively dance presentations by students from various classes.

The Principal, Dr . Parveena John Singh, in her inspiring message, reflected on the significance of Republic Day as a symbol of India’s democratic spirit and the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. She urged the students to nurture discipline, compassion and a deep sense of responsibility, and to contribute meaningfully towards building a strong and progressive nation.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving behind an atmosphere charged with patriotic fervour and renewed commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India.
