In a proactive effort to prioritize safety, Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, conducted a successful mock fire drill and awareness session on fire safety. Under the leadership of Founders & Directors, Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel and Dr. Annie Charles Samuel, the event focussed on equipping students and staff with essential fire safety protocols.
The drill was carried out with the guidance of the Fire Department officials, who provided valuable insights into the safety measures to be followed during fire emergencies. Both students and teachers participated in the exercise, forming coordinated teams to simulate real-time fire evacuation scenarios.As part of the drill, the sound of the siren signaled the immediate evacuation of classrooms, with students and staff swiftly moving to pre-designated safe zones. The entire school demonstrated efficient evacuation, following assigned escape routes to ensure the safety of all participants.
The principal, Dr. Parveena John Singh, emphasized the importance of such exercises in enhancing disaster preparedness. She added that “This drill marks a significant step towards ensuring the safety of our students and staff.”
