Under the aegis of the founder Directors of Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh,

Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel & Dr. Annie Charles Samuel and as an Initiative Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,   ‘TWIRLS OF FREEDOM’, an Inter-School Dance Competition in the Solo Dance, Couple Dance & Group Dance categories was organized by Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh in the School premises on 20-08-2022. The Dance Competition was conducted for students of classes VI to X. Students from 25 Schools of the Tricity and adjoining areas participated in these competitions. The day’s programme started with a Welcome Speech by Mansi, a student of Class X of the School. After this the students of the participating Schools presented their items for the competitions. The competition began with great zest and excitement. The participants dressed in colourful costumes twirled around which resonated with spirited rhythm and songs setting an electrifying ambience with their thrilling performances.  In the end the host School presented a host presentation which was not part of the competition as per the policy of the School, followed by the felicitation of the Judges by the Principal of the School, Dr. Parveena John Singh.

Mr. Sumit Kumar, a well-known name in the Punjabi Music Industry and has choreographed hits with Jasmine Sandlas, Tony Kakkar, Shehnaaz Gill, Sidharth Shukla, Arijit, Vicky Kaushal and Nora Fatehi and many others and Ms. Anu Nain, a reputed Choreographer of the Tricity with 10 years of experience as a Dance Teacher in reputed Schools of the Tricity were the Judges for these competitions. Prizes to the winning Schools were given by Dr. Parveena John Singh, the Principal of the School.  She congratulated the students for the gaiety and combination of colours in their dance performances. She was also pleased to note the passion & interest with which the students participated. She also praised the Teachers for supporting the students in their passion and said that success is an epitome of hard work.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Lavanya, a student of Class X of the School followed by the National Anthem.
